Meet the Team

  • Victor Esposito

    Learn To Downhill Ski Coach - Victor is the lead coach, and developer of QRSC’s downhill ski and snowboard programs. Originally from New Jersey, Victor spent 4 years in the Navy (2 tours in Vietnam), taught agriculture at UNH, worked as a JMG (Jobs for Maine Graduates) specialist in Central Maine schools, and now works in workforce development through the Alfond Youth and Community Center. Victor is a PSIA level 1 certified downhill ski instructor, and is always working on ways to grow the Quarry Road ski hill and it’s programs to continue to make skiing accessible to skiers and riders of all ages.

  • Caroline Mathes

    Youth Ski League Coach - Caroline has been coaching the Youth Ski League program at Quarry Road since 2007. Caroline previously helped coach the junior ski program in Farmington. She has been the chair of the New England Bill Koch Festival 3 different times. In addition to ski coaching, Caroline coaches tennis, is an avid mountain biker, and loves being outside!

  • Hans Albee

    Middle School Team Coach - Hans is the co-head coach for the Middle School Nordic Team. Hans started coaching during the 2021-2022 season. He has been cross-country skiing his whole life, but only recently took up skate skiing and racing, inspired by his son Turner, a member of the Middle School Team. He is just beginning to gain coaching experience, and loves learning about waxing.

  • Samantha Langlois

    Middle School Team Coach -Samantha is the co-head coach for the Middle School Nordic Team. This will be Santha’s 4th season as a QRSC coach. Both her daughters ski on the team. Samantha has skied all of her life (cross country and downhill) and raced on the nordic team at Gould Academy in high school. She’s happiest on skis! Samantha is a USSA L100 certified coach, and is formerly PSIA certified. She’s also a certified running coach through UESCA and coaches the middle school cross country running team in Belfast. When she’s not skiing or running (or hiking) you'll find her working on her small family farm. Fun fact: She spent about 10 years running sled dogs in Alaska!

  • Koren Coughlin

    Middle School Coach - Koren Coughlin is an assistant coach with the Middle School Quarry Road Ski Club. In addition to Nordic skiing, Koren enjoys running, cycling, and walking her dog, Finley. She shares her passion for education with her students at Messalonskee Middle School where she teaches 6th grade Social Studies and also coaches track. Koren is very excited for the upcoming season and looks forward to coaching the new and returning members of the team!

  • Patrick Cote

    Patrick helps coach the High School and Middle School Team. He has been coaching since the Central Maine Ski Club days before Quarry Road existed, back when we practiced on the North Street fields (2006). Patrick skied in college for UVM, then Dartmouth, then skied for Alpina Racing Team for 2 years. Patrick still enjoys jumping into races from time to time.

  • Jeff Tucker

    High School Team Coach - Jeff is the newest QRSC coach. Jeff graduated Colby College in 2016. He was a member of the nordic ski and outdoor track teams. After graduating Jeff found himself on a wax bench, and has coached for Colby, Harvard, Craftsbury Nordic Ski Club, and Nordic Ski Club of Fairbanks. Jeff is USSA L100 certified coach. When he’s not skiing, Jeff enjoys mountain biking, hiking, and exploring new trails.

  • Alanna McDonough

    Alanna is a new QRSC coach, she’ll be working with various groups throughout the winter. Alanna has coached running and skiing camps at the Craftsbury Outdoor Center. Alanna is relatively recent convert to nordic skiing (She is a former standout hockey player and runner.) When not skiing at Quarry Road, she is the head cross country coach at Thomas College.
